Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase on C.J. Stroud Comments: I'm Not Leaving Joe Burrow That Easy

C.J. Stroud and Ja'Marr Chase made some magic at the 2024 Pro Bowl Games, but that doesn't mean the two are destined to link up during a real NFL game anytime soon.

The two connected for a touchdown during Sunday's festivities and Chase even reflected on how electric the connection could be between the duo.

Despite how potent the connection could be, Chase took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to clarify that he is very settled with the Joe Burrow—who he was also teammates with at LSU—as his quarterback.

Stroud was the top rookie quarterback in the 2023 season, throwing for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns and five interceptions and helped lead the Houston Texans to an AFC South Division Title and a Wild Card Round playoff victory.

Chase just finished his third consecutive season of accumulating more than 1,000 yards. This came despite Burrow missing seven games and the Bengals falling short of the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

The Burrow-Chase connection has led to quite a bit of team success through the years. The duo helped LSU win the 2019-20 national championship. Not only that but Burrow and Chase helped the Bengals reach Super Bowl LVI in 2022 and the AFC title game in 2023.

Chase is under contract through the 2024 season and the Bengals will likely pick up his fifth-year option for 2025. Beyond that, Cincinnati is likely set on extending Chase long-term, so the chances of him playing alongside Stroud in a context outside of the Pro Bowl games seem very slim.
