Kentucky's Reed Sheppard Hailed as CBB Star After Dazzling Display vs. Tennessee

In the final game of Kentucky's regular season, freshman guard Reed Sheppard proved he's a star with a huge performance against No. 4 Tennessee.
Sheppard had 27 points, five assists and six rebounds in No. 15 Kentucky's 85-81 win over the Vols on Saturday. Sheppard put up ridiculous numbers from deep, shooting 9-of-14 from beyond the arc in the upset.
Kentucky fans have known how good Sheppard is for a while—he averages 12.2 points per game off the bench for the Wildcats—but on Saturday, he put the nation on notice by leading his team to a signature win to close out the season.

Despite coming off the bench for Kentucky, Sheppard could very well be a lottery pick in this year's NBA draft. Bleacher Report's 2024 NBA Mock Draft has him going to the Chicago Bulls at No. 12 pick, and a big postseason from Sheppard could move him up even further.
His performance against the Vols certainly helped his case.
