Malik Nabers Hailed as 2024 NFL Draft's Most Electric Athlete by Fans After Pro Day
March 27, 2024
LSU star wide receiver Malik Nabers was always known for his explosiveness, but scouts and NFL Draft observers keeping a keen eye on his Pro Day workout on Wednesday were still blown away by his performance.
Nabers started his day by recording a 42-inch vertical and 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump. If that wasn't impressive enough, he logged an unofficial time of 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
After an outstanding junior season at LSU in which he was unanimously named an All-American, Nabers was universally regarded as one of the top receiver prospects in the 2024 NFL draft. B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranked him as the No. 2 wideout in its latest big board behind only Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr.
However, Nabers has been turning heads throughout the offseason and could take over the No. 1 spot soon. It was reported earlier this month that "several teams" view him as the No. 1 receiver ahead of Harrison. His showing on Wednesday will only further improve his draft stock, and he could be the first wideout selected next month.
The talk on social media was overwhelmingly positive for Nabers during his Pro Day:

Nabers finished the 2023 season with 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. He ranks first in LSU program history with 3,003 career receiving yards, an impressive feat considering the school's lineage includes current NFL stars Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase and Odell Beckham Jr.
B/R NFL scout Derrik Klassen described Nabers as "an explosive play waiting to happen" and praised him for his ability to excel regardless of where he's lined up on the field.
"Overall, it's easy to see how Nabers could make an instant impact in the NFL," Klassen wrote. "His combination of speed, quickness and yards-after-the-catch skills will translate into explosive plays right away."
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported Wednesday that Nabers met with several teams in the top 10 of next month's draft before his Pro Day, including the New York Giants, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars. A meeting with the Arizona Cardinals was also scheduled for after his workout.
Whichever team lands Nabers will be getting a future superstar, as his Pro Day performance proved he's destined for big things in the NFL.
