Masters 2024: Dates, Schedule, TV Info for Tournament at Augusta National
April 1, 2024
A tradition unlike any other will return on Thursday, April 11 when The Masters golf tournament is played yet again at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
On Monday, CBS Sports unveiled its full schedule for the event as the top golfers in the world seek the famed green jacket:
Jon Rahm is the defending champion and looking to become the first golfer to win back-to-back Masters since Tiger Woods pulled of the feat in 2001-02 on the way to five triumphs at Augusta. Only Jack Nicklaus (six) has won the tournament more.
It is uncertain if Woods will play in this year's event, given his ongoing battle with injuries. But if his health is in a good place, expect him to play.
"I've always loved this golf course, and I love playing this event," he told reporters during the 2023 Masters. "Obviously I've missed a couple with some injuries, but I've always wanted to play here. I've loved it."
He won't be the favorite at this year's event, however.
That distinction likely will belong to 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, who has been red hot in 2024, winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship. And he was a pair of birdie putts away from potentially winning his third straight tournament on Sunday at the Texas Children's Houston Open.
He's now finished in the top 10 in seven of his eight tournaments this season. He's on a different level in 2024.
Players like Rory McIlroy, Rahm, Brooks Koepka and Zalatoris, among other, will also be popular picks to win it all.
