Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair and Naomi beat Damage CTRL members Dakota Kai, Asuka and Kairi Sane in a six-woman tag team match on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 on Saturday.

The ending sequence began when Belair hit Asuka with a KOD. Cargill then landed her Jaded finisher on Dakota Kai (after carrying her around the ring for a few moments) before closing the contest.

Since forming at SummerSlam 2022, Damage CTRL has run roughshod over the SmackDown women's division, and Belair was their first target.

The group changed over time with Asuka and Kairi joining Dakota and Iyo Sky, and Bayley getting pushed out, but the animosity The EST of WWE had for the stable remained strongly intact.

Despite that, Belair was reluctant to involve herself in the issues between Bayley and Damage CTRL since she felt the former group leader was getting exactly what she deserved. However, Naomi made it clear that she felt bad for The Role Model.

Naomi's conscience led to her saving Bayley from an attack at the hands of Damage CTRL, but when The Glow got overwhelmed, Belair also got involved and saved her friend.

Belair noted that while she still didn't trust Bayley, she was willing to fight for and alongside Naomi, which led to a dicey situation at the end of the March 29 episode of SmackDown.

The EST faced Kai in the main event, and it predictably devolved into chaos with Damage CTRL using the numbers advantage to take out Belair and Naomi, but an unexpected ally emerged.

After being introduced as the newest SmackDown signing earlier in the show, Cargill made her way to the ring and singlehandedly took out Dakota, Asuka and Kairi, allowing herself, Belair and Naomi to stand tall.

Following a highly successful run in All Elite Wrestling, Cargill signed with WWE in September, but the company took a measured approach with her, as she did not compete in her debut match until being a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match in January.

WrestleMania represented only her second match since signing with WWE, and it gave her a platform to shine, as she got to compete alongside and against five of the best women's Superstars that the company has to offer.

Cargill, Belair and Naomi were victorious on The Grandest Stage of Them All, and the win could serve as a launching pad for The Storm in terms of becoming one of the top stars in the women's division.
