Video: AJ Styles, LA Knight Brawl at WWE WrestleMania 40 Press Conference

AJ Styles and LA Knight couldn't wait until WrestleMania XL to throw hands.

The two got into fight Friday during a press event to hype up WrestleMania and their individual encounter to come in two days' time. Styles was left with a bloodied nose from the altercation.

Promoters have long loved blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality and big press events are a great opportunity to do just that. Fans of a certain vintage may recall "The Narcissist" Lex Luger attacking Bret Hart in the buildup to WrestleMania IX.

In the case of Styles and Knight, their feud has been building for months.

Styles returned to WWE programming during the Dec. 15 edition of SmackDown, coming to the aid of Styles and Randy Orton amid an attack by The Bloodline. The Phenomenal One proceeded to set his sights on Knight to everyone's surprise.

Styles subsequently explained he still resented Knight for replacing him in a tag match against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. Getting a shot against Roman Reigns in a Fatal 4-Way match at Royal Rumble did little to dampen his animosity toward the ascendant star.

At Elimination Chamber, he attacked Knight with a steel chair to deny his rival an opportunity to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Things should finally come to a head Sunday and not a moment too soon for the city of Philadelphia. Who knows what more wreckage they could leave behind in the City of Brotherly Love?
