Video: Stefon Diggs Works Out with C.J. Stroud, Texans WRs After Trade from Bills
April 7, 2024
Stefon Diggs isn't wasting time getting to know his new teammates.
Streamer Sketch hosted an Instagram Live featuring the new Houston Texans wideout working out with quarterback C.J. Stroud and fellow receivers Tank Dell and John Metchie III:
The Texans pulled off a shocking blockbuster trade for Diggs earlier this month, sending a 2025 second-round pick to the Buffalo Bills.
Diggs is set to join an already stellar receiving corps featuring Dell, Metchie and Nico Collins, who had more receiving yards (1,297) than Diggs (1,183) last season.
It's a one-year rental situation for Houston, which agreed to nix the final three years of Diggs' contract as part of the deal. Diggs will earn $22.5 million next season and can immediately hit the free-agent market after what he hopes is a return to form.
The second half of the 2023 campaign was a disappointment for Diggs, as he caught 47 passes for 422 yards and one touchdown in his final 10 games as a Bill (including the playoffs).
Stroud is coming off one of the best rookie seasons for a quarterback in NFL history. The Ohio State product threw for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns against five interceptions. With Diggs now in the fold and Joe Mixon coming over from the Cincinnati Bengals, expectations are through the roof in Houston for 2024.
