Tiger Woods Praised as GOAT by Fans After Making Masters Record 24th Straight Cut
April 12, 2024
Tiger Woods made history in what could become his first complete PGA Tour event in a year.
Woods finished Friday's windy second round of the 2024 Masters Tournament with an even-par 72 at Augusta National.
He will head into Saturday with a plus-1 for the tournament, placing him among the top 50 finishers and helping him become the first player in Masters history to make 24 consecutive cuts.

There was less than one hour of rest between the rain-delayed opening-round finale and the start of the second round Friday.
Woods initially appeared to show some tiredness with four bogeys in the second round, including three on the first nine.
He recovered with three birdies, including a chip shot on No. 6.
He finished the round by making par with a putt on No. 18, earning a standing ovation from the crowd at Augusta National.
In his last PGA Tour event, Woods withdrew after 24 holes from the 2024 Genesis Invitational.
If he is able to complete the Masters, it will mark his first full PGA Tour event since undergoing ankle surgery in April 2023.
That marked the latest in a long line of surgeries for the 15-time majors champion, including multiple surgeries on his right leg and ankle after a 2021 car accident.
This absence from the Tour didn't stop Woods from recovering to make the cut Friday.

And is still able to beat 60 of the world's best at the age of 48 Makes the cut for another record Youngsters really do not appreciate how good this guy was @SkySportsGolf #GOAT

Lee Mc @LeeFMc83Let me tell you, that is a REMARKABLE performance from Tiger Woods. To shoot even par and be in the mix is just crazy. In that wind, on that course, with no golf in the tank, a fused ankle..once again showing why he's barely human.

The single greatest sportsman of all time 👏👏

The third round of the 2024 Masters begins Saturday. Tee times are yet to be determined.
Woods is seeking his sixth Masters win, and his first since 2019. He needs one more victory to tie Jack Nicklaus for the most tournament wins in PGA Tour history.
