After Zach Johnson appeared to have some choice words for patrons at the Masters, he denied that claim, calling it "laughable."

"That I swore at the patrons? That's laughable," Johnson said after Round 2 on Friday. "That's completely laughable. I can't hear the patrons, number one. Number two, I just made a triple bogey on the 12th hole that evidently is going to make me miss the cut, which at the time I knew was pretty sensitive in the sense that I needed to keep making pars."

Johnson added that if he had said anything, it was directed at himself in frustration.

"If I've said anything, which I'm not going to deny, especially if it's on camera, one, I apologize," Johnson said. "And two, it was fully directed towards myself entirely because I can't hear anything behind me. Does that make sense?"

The moment when Johnson appeared to let his frustration get the best of him came at the 12th hole. Johnson lipped out for a triple-bogey six, receiving cheers from the crowd that could have come across as sarcastic.

Johnson had a frustrating day on Friday, scoring a +3 in Round 2's action to bring his score to +7, which is below the projected cut line of +6.

Johnson went home with a green jacket in 2007 after winning the Masters, but it appears he'll leave empty-handed this time.
