After returning to the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal, veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott is set to have a fresh look.

Per ESPN's Todd Archer, Elliott will not be returning to his original No. 21 that he wore during his first run in Dallas from 2016 to 2022. Instead, he will be taking the No. 15 that he wore last season with the New England Patriots and during his collegiate career at Ohio State.

Elliott's switch meant that quarterback Trey Lance needed a new number, and he chose No. 19:

Hold off on buying a No. 21 jersey for Ezekiel Elliott. Told he will be moving to No. 15, which he wore in New England and Ohio State. Trey Lance will move to No. 19. Not sure it means much at the moment for the return of Stephon Gilmore, who wore 21 last year, just yet.

Elliott appeared in all 17 games in a backup role for the Patriots in 2023 and rushed for career-lows of 642 yards and three touchdowns. After rejoining the Cowboys, the 28-year-old is happy to be in a familiar situation.

"It feels great to be home," Elliott told the team's official website. "I definitely missed being here. I missed this building. I missed Cowboys nation. I'm definitely excited and ready to get this thing going."
