The 2024 PGA Championship could feature a three-way battle between the best male golfers on the planet.

Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy all enter Valhalla Golf Club off wins in their most-recent starts.

McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday, Koepka captured the latest LIV Golf event in Singapore and Scheffler won the RBC Heritage after his triumph at the Masters.

Each of those three players will be talked about often between now and Thursday morning as potential champions.

While the favorites will dominate the conversation, a few sleeper picks could emerge similar to how Ludvig Aberg contended at the Masters.

    Scottie Scheffler (+400)

Scheffler either won or finished second in each of his last five PGA Tour starts.

He experienced zero hangover from winning the Masters by taking first at the RBC Heritage.

Scheffler has not shot a round over 72 all season and finished in the top 10 at three of the last four PGA Championships.

It's hard to imagine Scheffler not being in contention when the back nine rolls around on Sunday.

    Rory McIlroy (+700)

McIlroy carries a ton of momentum into Louisville from his five-stroke win over Xander Schauffele at the Wells Fargo Championship.

McIlroy's decade-long major title drought is well documented and some people will make the case this is his best chance in quite some time to finally win his fifth major.

The Northern Irishman placed in the top 10 in seven of his last nine major starts. He finished in a tie for 22nd and missed the cut in the other two appearances since the start of 2021.

There's a good chance he will be fighting for the win on Sunday, but to finally end the drought, he likely has to beat one or both of Scheffler and Koepka.

    Brooks Koepka (+1400)

The reigning PGA champion is coming off one of his best performances of the season at LIV's Singapore event.

Koepka has twice successfully defended a major title. He did so at the 2018 U.S. Open and 2019 PGA Championship.

He shot six under par rounds on the LIV Tour after Augusta. Four of those rounds had scores of five-under or better, including a seven-under round that helped him win in Singapore.

Koepka owns six career top-five finishes at the PGA Championship. That's his highest total at any of the four majors.

    Sepp Straka (+9000)

Sepp Straka's strong run of form started at the Masters.

He finished in a tie for 16th at Augusta and went on to record three more finishes inside the top 11.

Straka's second-best major performance came at last year's PGA Championship, when he landed in a tie for seventh.

Additionally, Straka played well at the season's biggest events. The tie for 16th at the Masters came a few weeks after he finished in the same position at the Players Championship.

    Sahith Theegala (+7000)

Sahith Theegala's string of recent results may not suggest he will contend at Valhalla.

He finished in a tie for 45th at the Masters and is coming off a tie for 54th at the Wells Fargo, but he also has a five top-10 finishes on his resume this season.

Theegala took second at the RBC Heritage and landed in the top 10 at both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship.

He thrived at the events that rank one tier below the majors on the PGA Tour and now seems like a good time to buy low on his outright price.
