Report: Greg Olsen to Be No. 2 Fox NFL Analyst Behind Tom Brady; Salary Drops by $7M

Greg Olsen is reportedly staying at Fox for the 2024 NFL season, although he won't be making as much money as he did last season.

Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post reported on Tuesday that Olsen will be the analyst on the network's No. 2 NFL team and partnered with play-by-play announcer Joe Davis. While Olsen worked with Kevin Burkhardt on the network's top team last season, legendary quarterback Tom Brady is joining the fold and assuming that position this year.

In February, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that Olsen's salary will drop from $10 million to $3 million with the drop down from the No. 1 team to the No. 2 team.

While Olsen primarily worked with Burkhardt and even called Super Bowl LVII together, he is familiar with Davis.

They were partnered together when Burkhardt shifted to MLB duties during the baseball playoffs and will now have plenty of opportunities to work together following this development.

There were some questions about whether Olsen would remain at Fox with the addition of Brady, especially given the decrease in salary.

He told Joseph Person and Richard Deitsch of The Athletic in January that he planned to explore "the entire spectrum of opportunities" with Fox and other networks even though he appreciated the chance he was initially given as a broadcaster.

"Fox (decision-makers) were the ones that believed in me from the beginning," he said. "They gave me my first opportunities to do this when I was still playing back in 2017 on a bye week. No one was adamant about my future in this business as much as Fox was. I'll forever be grateful for that."

His future in the business will remain with Fox following this development, although it is impossible not to be overshadowed when the greatest football player of all time joins one's network.

After all, Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion and three-time MVP who is making a career shift into broadcasting. It will be appointment viewing when he is in the announcing booth, and it is no surprise Fox is putting him front and center in his first season.

But Olsen is remaining with the network as well after picking up critical experience on the No. 1 team while Fox waited for Brady.
