May 17, 2024
Rece Davis certainly did his part to make EA Sports College Football 25 a reality.
The ESPN broadcaster shared a pair of clips from the voiceover work he did for the highly anticipated video game. He apparently spent 250 hours in the booth to record all of his lines.
ESPN's Chris Fowler posted on May 1 he had only just concluded his duties for EA Sports. He had previously spoke about the arduous process required as one of the announcers on College Football 25, explaining it was in service of providing the necessary attention to detail.
Beyond how the announcers are calling a game, College Football 25's developers strove for a level of realism with who's making the call.
Kirk Herbstreit, who forms ESPN's No. 1 broadcast team with Fowler, told USA Today's Jordan Mendoza the selection of the announcers depends on the situation.
"Chris and I won't be on every every game," Herbstreit said. "You're going to have different broadcast partners for different games. Depending on the magnitude of the game, that will dictate who's calling the game."
The excitement for College Football 25 is approaching a fever pitch, especially with Friday's release of the first full trailer.
The game will hit stores July 19.
