There's a new record for the highest-selling Michael Jordan rookie card.

According to Darren Rovell of Cllct.com, a 1984-85 Jordan Star #101 card was sold privately earlier this month for a whopping $925,000, surpassing the $840,000 paid for a Jordan 1986 Fleer rookie at PWCC in July 2021.

Rovell noted that it took 27 years for the Star #101 card to regain its status as the most valuable Michael Jordan rookie card.

JUST IN: After a 27-year battle, the MIchael Jordan 1984-85 Star #101 has supplanted the MJ 1986 Fleer Jordan, as @cllctMedia reports tonight a $925K sale for a PSA 9.

The tale of the wild climb back to the top https://t.co/pIXRpkXK6t

The Star #101 card holds the unique distinction of having a picture of Jordan grabbing a rebound as opposed to doing what he's known best for, like dunking or scoring.

Of course, Jordan is the subject of some of the most famous trading cards in sports history. It wouldn't be a surprise if the Star #101 card is eventually supplanted as the highest-selling rookie card of the NBA icon.
