Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell has opened up about being injured in a shooting in Florida earlier this year.

Appearing on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game show (starts at 2:45 mark), Dell said it was just "wrong place, wrong time" and he initially wasn't planning to go to the party where it went down, then all of a sudden it "just went south out of nowhere."

"I thought I removed myself from the situation of the little altercation when they was fighting," Dell explained. "But I put myself in the middle of, like, two people, and it just went crazy."

Dell was one of 10 people who sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an April 27 shooting at a nightclub in Sanford, Florida. He was not involved in the altercation that led to the shooting and resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old suspect.

The Texans announced the following day that Dell sustained a minor wound and had been released from the hospital.

Dell was back on the field and participating in drills with the Texans for the start of organized team activities on May 21.

"Happy for Tank to get back out there. He went through a very tragic situation," Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said after the first day of OTAs. "We're just happy that he's here, happy that he's back out being able to do what he loves doing and that's playing football. It's fun to see him running around. Being that same player he's been before, making plays and being a dynamic player for us. Everyone is excited to see Tank."

The 24-year-old Dell is entering his second season in the NFL. He was a third-round pick by the Texans in 2023 after playing three seasons at the University of Houston.

Dell emerged as a key player for the Texans offense early in his rookie campaign. He finished second on the team with 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games. He missed the final seven games, including the playoffs, due to a fractured fibula suffered in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos.
