Aryna Sabalenka entered the quarterfinals without dropping an entire set, looking absolutely unbeatable.

The No. 2 seed had not lost before the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament since the 2022 French Open.

Then came Russian wunderkind Mirra Andreeva.

After two and a-half hours and three sets, the 17-year-old stunned Sabalenka and the Court Phillipe-Chatrier crowd, earning her first bid to a Grand Slam semifinal.

Andreeva, who will face another first-time semifinalist in No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini, is looking to become the fourth youngest woman to win a Grand Slam singles championship and the youngest since Martina Hingis won the 1997 Australian Open (16 years, 117 days).

On the men's side, only one quarterfinal match took place today, with Novak Djokovic's withdrawal due to a torn meniscus.

With Djokvovic's withdrawal, Casper Ruud is through to the semifinals and will face Alexander Zverev in a rematch of last year's semifinals, which Ruud won convincingly in straight sets.

No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev is back in the French Open semifinals for the fourth consecutive year.

Despite winning in straight sets against No. 11 seed Alex De Minaur, Zverev committed significantly more unforced errors (48) than he had in any of his other French Open matches.

The German will face No. 7 seed Casper Ruud in a rematch of last year's semifinal matchup, which Ruud won in straight sets.

Ruud, who has made the final in back-to-back years, will likely enter as the favorite in this match, though much of the result will depend on Zverev's form and his ability to stay consistent in long baseline rallies.

Mirra Andreeva put up an incredible performance in the quarterfinal round, defeating No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka in three sets.

Despite trailing by a set and facing the only player who hadn't surrendered a set in the French Open, Andreeva stuck to her game and went toe-to-toe with the two-time Grand Slam champion.

The 17-year-old, who orchestrated one of the biggest upsets of the entire tournament, will face No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini in the semifinals.

Like Andreeva, Paolini is also coming off the heels of an impressive win against No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina.

Both Andreeva and Paolini will be making their Grand Slam semifinal debuts, which means the final will feature a first-time finalist.
