Former NBA guard Delonte West was reportedly arrested early Thursday morning in Fairfax County, Virginia.

According to TMZ Sports, a jail official at Fairfax County Detention Center said West was arrested on misdemeanor charges of violating conditions of release and resisting arrest.

TMZ later reported that West suffered a "medical emergency" during the attempt to arrest him. Police told TMZ that West was "unresponsive" and that Narcan had to be administered.

West was later transported to the hospital where Narcan was administered a second time. He was later released and taken back into police custody.

West is reportedly being held on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

West, 40, spent eight seasons in the NBA from 2004 through 2012, playing for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks.

Following his final NBA season with the Mavs in 2012, West had two stints with the G League's Texas Legends and also played for Fujian Xunxing and the Shanghai Sharks in China.

However, West fell on hard times after his basketball career ended, and per ESPN's Tim MacMahon, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban picked up West at a gas station in 2020 after he was seen panhandling, and offered to pay for him to go to a drug rehabilitation center.

ESPN later reported that West got a job at the rehab center he attended in Florida, but he was arrested in October 2021 after allegedly banging on the doors of a Florida police department while holding two open containers of alcohol and cursing at officers.

West attempted to make a basketball comeback in 2022 by trying out for the BIG3 three-on-three league, but he wasn't signed.

Per TMZ Sports, West was then arrested twice in a two-week span in the fall of 2022 on suspicion of public intoxication.

West said he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2008.

In college, West starred alongside another longtime NBA guard in Jameer Nelson at Saint Joseph's. Together, they led the Hawks to a 30-2 record and a trip to the Elite Eight in 2004.

West was a first-round pick by the Celtics in the 2004 NBA draft, and he went on to average 9.7 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 432 career NBA regular-season games.
