NBA Trade Rumors: Bulls Showing 'Willingness' to Move Up in Draft for 'Right Price'
June 7, 2024
The Chicago Bulls will have the chance to get a top prospect with the No. 11 pick in this month's NBA draft, but the team reportedly has higher aspirations.
According to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, the Bulls have "shown a willingness to explore moving up in the draft for the right price."
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman predicted in his latest mock draft that Chicago would land highly-touted Serbian point guard Nikola Topic with the 11th pick. However, Givony noted that the team has been eyeing G League Ignite forward Matas Buzelis, who Wasserman projected to be the No. 4 pick by the San Antonio Spurs.
Givony stated that Bulls team president Arturas Karnisovas "has extensive knowledge of Buzelis" because they're both Lithuanian. The team "watched him work out privately in Los Angeles early in the pre-draft process," so it could be intrigued enough to make a move up the draft board to select the swingman.
The Bulls are hoping to bounce back from a second straight season of missing the playoffs, so their decision on draft day will be crucial to their chances of being more competitive next year.
