BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube discussed the details of the league's two-year contract offer worth $10 million to Caitlin Clark before she chose to join the WNBA instead.

"It was two years, $5 million a year," he said during a Thursday appearance on the Dan Patrick Show (00:45 mark). "And plus, we were going to do cool stuff with merch and there was even talk about a percentage in team ownership.

"We believe her coming into the BIG3 would be such a big deal that all boats would rise and the league would benefit from the attention."

After Clark's stellar college career at Iowa in which she became the NCAA's all-time leading scorer and won three consecutive Big Ten Player of the Year awards, there was some speculation about potentially joining the BIG3 before she was taken by the Indiana Fever with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

The recent details of her offer are interesting, especially the percentage of team ownership aspect. On April 24, BIG3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz wrote in an article for OutKick that Clark's total contract value could have reached $15 million "or more" with merchandising and ownership included.

While Ice Cube revealed that the league has "moved on" from the offer to Clark due to a lack of engagement from her team, the Fever guard is still doing well for herself. She recently signed an eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike that includes a signature shoe.

Clark has also been excelling on the court, as she was named the WNBA Rookie of the Month after averaging 17.6 points per game through May.
