Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards and Adidas reached a new endorsement contract that will reportedly pay the All-Star eight figures per year.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the contract will make Edwards a "face" of the Adidas brand moving forward. Edwards has been signed to Adidas since being the top pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

An All-Star each of the last two seasons, Edwards led the Timberwolves to the second-best record in franchise history (56-26) in 2023-24 while putting up averages of 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He will represent Team USA this summer in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

In addition to being one of the game's brightest stars, Edwards is also one of its most charismatic faces. He's developed a reputation for his candor and humor in interviews, traits Adidas has used as part of its marketing campaigns.

Rapper Cam'ron took exception to one remark made during an Edwards-Adidas ad earlier this year and freestyle rapped about the situation on his podcast.

While not every campaign will necessarily result in a rapper offering a freestyle response, it goes to show what type of lightning rod Edwards can be as a personality. As his game continues to grow, there's no limit to his marketability.

Adidas locking him up now is smart before other suitors could come in offering a whopping check.
