Shedeur Sanders Debuts Colorado Big 12 CFB Jersey in New Photo Ahead of 2024 Season
July 10, 2024
University of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders posted a photo of himself Wednesday on Instagram in which he is sporting the new jersey the Buffaloes will be wearing in 2024.
While the jersey itself is largely the same as the one he wore last season in his first year at Colorado, the major difference is the fact that it now includes a Big 12 patch:
Colorado played in the Pac-12 last season and had been in the conference since 2011, but the conference essentially dissolved over the past several months with all but two teams jumping ship, including Colorado moving back to the Big 12.
Before joining the Pac-12, Colorado was part of the Big 12 (previously known as the Big 8 and Big 7) from 1948 to 2010.
Despite going 1-11 in 2022, Colorado was one of the most hyped teams in college football due to the arrival of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders as the program's head coach.
Sanders left FCS Jackson State to take the job at Colorado, and he brought some elite talent with him. Shedeur, who is Deion's son, was the starting quarterback last season, and two-way star Travis Hunter, who was once the No. 1 recruit in the nation, followed Coach Prime to Boulder as well.
Colorado started last season 3-0 and all signs pointed toward a huge bounce-back year for the Buffs, but they lost eight of their final nine games, finishing 4-8 and missing out on a bowl game.
Even so, it marked a three-game improvement from the previous season, and there is reason to believe Colorado will take another step forward in 2024 as Coach Prime continues to reshape the roster.
Shedeur will arguably be the biggest key to the Buffaloes' success, though, and he has plenty of incentive to have a great year.
Last season, Shedeur completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing for four touchdowns.
If he can improve upon those numbers in 2024 and the Buffaloes take a step forward as a team, Shedeur has a chance to be one of the top selections in the 2025 NFL draft.
