Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Posts Cryptic Message After Being Left Off Top-10 NFL CB List
July 18, 2024
Dallas Cowboys star Trevon Diggs didn't appear to be pleased after he was left off a list of the top 10 cornerbacks in the NFL entering the 2024 season.
On Thursday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed a poll of NFL coaches, executives and scouts that omitted Diggs from a ranking of the 10 best cornerbacks in the league. The 25-year-old didn't appear to be satisfied with the list, while Cowboys teammate Micah Parsons also weighed in.
Denver Broncos corner Patrick Surtain II earned the No. 1 spot on the ranking, while Cleveland Browns star Denzel Ward and New York Jets standout Sauce Gardner rounded out the top three.
Coaches and executives likely took Diggs' health into account when creating the list, as the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback appeared in just two games before a torn ACL ended his 2023 campaign.
Still, he's proven himself to be an exceptional defender on the boundary with a knack for forcing turnovers. He has 18 career interceptions, with 11 of them occurring during his All-Pro 2021 season.
Diggs should form a formidable duo with DaRon Bland in 2024, with the former fifth-round pick coming off a breakout season of his own. Bland amassed nine interceptions and 15 passes defensed while appearing in all 17 regular-season games.

The two already appear to be looking forward to sharing the field once again.
"I mean, a lot of people are not expecting what Tre is gonna come back with," Bland said on May 1, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. "I know what Tre is gonna come back with. It's going to be something dangerous. Can't wait."
With the two cornerbacks blanketing wide receivers while Parsons wreaks havoc in opposing backfields, the Cowboys will be looking to earn their second consecutive division title in 2024.
