Sometimes everyone has to tip their cap.

Even Kevin Durant.

The future Hall of Famer took to social media Thursday and responded to a photograph of Anthony Edwards dunking over him by saying, "I tried Jennifer."

The comment is a reference to CJ McCollum's famous reply to a fan who told him to "win a playoff game and then talk" in 2018:

CJ McCollum @CJMcCollum

Im trying Jennifer

As for Durant, it is certainly notable that it was Edwards who dunked over him. After all, the 22-year-old led his Minnesota Timberwolves to a first-round playoff win over the 35-year-old's Phoenix Suns and didn't hesitate to talk trash as it was happening.

Still, the two-time NBA Finals MVP deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one, as he is working his way back from a calf injury. Stopping Edwards when fully healthy is a daunting enough task, so there is no shame in being dunked on like this at less than 100 percent.

But that surely won't stop Edwards from having some fun and talking trash yet again as the two Team USA teammates prepare for Sunday's Olympics opener against Serbia.
