Fantasy Alert: Marvin Mims Jr. to Be Broncos' 'Explosive Play Guy' amid NFL Rumors
July 28, 2024
Marvin Mims Jr. is going to be an important weapon for the Denver Broncos in the 2024 NFL season.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Broncos "will use receiver Marvin Mims Jr. in a variety of ways, as an 'explosive play guy' on the outside for the new quarterback and possibly as a creative option for the new kickoff returns. Returners need to get used to different styles of kickoffs (low balls, ground balls, etc.), and Denver feels Mims can handle that well. But he will also be a key component in the pass game."
Mims, 22, caught just 22 passes for 377 yards and a touchdown during his rookie season in 2023. He also averaged 16.4 yards per return on punts (19 tries) and 26.5 yards per kick return on 15 tries, with one score.
He'll be in competition with players like Courtland Sutton, Josh Reynolds, Tim Patrick and rookie Troy Franklin for targets in the passing game, but Mims has the explosive ability to carve out an important niche for Denver this season.
