Women's soccer takes center stage Saturday with the quarterfinals of the 2024 Olympic Games.
The tournament's best team is Spain, who will see a tough test in the form of Colombia, but the La Roja is hardly the only team worth keeping a close eye on.
The United States has soared in the Games under new coach Emma Hayes and a win over Japan could catapult them into the discussion for a potential gold medal. The same can be said for Canada who, against all odds, has advanced to the knockout round and will have an opportunity to defend its Olympic title.
Who plays who, when, and where can you find all of the action?

United States Faces Tough Test in Japan

The United States has been stellar to this point in the Olympics, with Mallory Swanson, Sophia Smith, and Trinity Rodman forming a trio of young stars with the potential to be the face of this national team for years to come.
They have lived up to expectations and in the case of Smith and Rodman, been even better.
The team faces its toughest test strategically Friday in Japan.
The opposition possesses an aggressive offense and the ability to play in transition that will prove problematic for a United States defense without Sam Coffey (suspension) and Tierna Davidson (injury).
There will be considerable pressure on the team's back four to solidify and prevent the Japan offense from dictating the tone and tempo of the game.
Offensively, the Americans should be able to hang with their opponents. They defeated this same squad in April, 2-1, proving their resiliency along the way as they battled back from a 1-0 deficit.
If the defense holds strong, the United States will win. If it falters, it will be a disappointing conclusion for a team that has flashed brilliance under new coach Emma Hayes at different points in this tournament.
Canada vs. Germany Is Most Equal Match-Up of the Quarterfinals

That Canada is in the tournament quarterfinals is almost a miracle after the team was deducted six points amid a drone spying scandal that resulted in its head coach, Bev Priestman, being suspended.
The 2021 Olympic champs will battle Germany which, on paper, is the better team.
The German squad is balanced, presenting strong offense and defense. They outscored Australia and Zambia, 7-1, but were humbled in a rare blowout loss to the Americans, 4-1.
They are statistically better, rank fourth in the world to Canada's eighth, and have the players necessary to eliminate the defending champions from the tournament.
For all that has gone on with the Canadians thus far in the Olympics, included a self-inflicted scandal, they have proven resilient. They have been able to shake off the negative press, and are unbeaten in their group.
Still, on the surface, everything points to powerhouse Germany winning and advancing to the semifinals but Canada has officially made a habit of stealing the show on the Olympic stage. If they do it again, a second straight semifinal showdown with the United States awaits.
