Stephen Curry putting Team USA on his back and leading it to Olympic glory with a three-point barrage in the final minutes of the gold medal game victory over France was yet another reminder of something basketball fans already know.

The Golden State Warriors star's career is filled with countless iconic and unforgettable moments.

And now gamers will get the chance to relive or perhaps even rewrite them as part of NBA 2K25's Steph Era. The new mode was one of a number of changes to the upcoming game that 2K Sports announced Tuesday ahead of its release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The Steph Era mode will be part of MyNBA and take players back to 2016 by allowing them to either relive the Warriors' dynasty run with Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green or boldly challenge the loaded roster.

Golden State dominated the NBA from the 2014-15 season through the 2018-19 one by reaching five straight NBA Finals and winning three of them. It also won an NBA-record 73 games in 2015-16 and then added Durant in free agency ahead the following season to make an already historic group that much more formidable.

Curry was the face of the franchise during that stretch and remained in that role while leading the Warriors to yet another title as the 2022 NBA Finals MVP after Durant had already moved elsewhere.

Getting a chance to relive that time via the Steph Era isn't the only change NBA 2K players will see in the MyNBA mode of the upcoming game. NBA 2K25 will also feature the NBA Cup and its group stage play and single-elimination knockout rounds. What's more, players can expand or contract the league by adding and subtracting teams.

If that's not enough control, the MyGM mode allows gamers to play as the general manager of a team and assume the responsibilities that come with such a role.

That means managing conversations and expectations with players and staff members, improving the roster with personnel moves, unlocking additional GM abilities with a new perk system, and even choosing a backstory.

Players can decide whether their GMs will be a former player moving to the front office, a scout moving up the organizational hierarchy, a finance expert or more. The various backstories will contribute to initial attributes and boost opportunities that will impact the franchise.

Perhaps one of those virtual GMs will even build the next dynasty that will enjoy the same level of success that Curry and the Warriors did.
