Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. vehemently pushed back on the idea he's using his ongoing injury issues as an excuse to avoid working out with the team.

A fan on X questioned if Beckham is "pulling off another Will Fuller," a reference to how Fuller only made three appearances with Miami after signing a one-year contract worth more than $10 million in 2021. That prompted a series of posts from the three-time Pro Bowler:

Oh nice! Yea I think just keep posting bs for clicks and it should definitely make the answers appear ? Anyways everybody over here kno what's goin on( the team and ppl in this building) time will tell what and how the rest of the story goes. Thanks for ur concerns

Beckham missed the entire 2022 season due to the torn ACL he suffered a year earlier with the Los Angeles Rams, which was his second major ACL injury. Early into 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens, he hurt his ankle and missed two games.

The wear and tear is starting to add up for the 31-year-old, so his present situation—the source of which is unclear—is somewhat predictable within that context.

The idea that OBJ is merely cashing a check is also laughable when you look at the financial side. His NFL career earnings approach $99 million and he's only due to collect $3 million guaranteed for 2024.

Beckham doesn't need to play for a paycheck at this point, and if he were purely looking to finesse an NFL team, surely he would've held out for more money.

All of that aside, Miami is approaching an important deadline with the veteran pass-catcher.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported in July that Beckham was "working through minor things," hence his placement on the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list. The fact he's unable to be a full participant in training camp, though he's working out to some degree, is a little concerning.

Miami will have to add Beckham to the active roster at some point between now and Week 1. Otherwise, keeping him on the PUP list will require him to miss a minimum of four games.
