Jayden Daniels continued to impress on Saturday as the Washington Commanders took on the Miami Dolphins.
The former LSU quarterback and No. 2 overall pick had 78 passing yards and completed 10 of his 12 passes, also adding 13 yards on the ground on two carries. It was another solid game from the rookie quarterback, especially considering he was in for just two drives.
After another impressive showing, Commanders fans expressed their excitement for Daniels to lead their team under center this season.
Daniels' performance on Saturday followed up a preseason debut which saw him record 45 passing yards on 2-of-3 passing. While fans have only seen a few drives from Daniels, he's given Washington hope that he can be the franchise quarterback that turns things around.
In his final season at LSU, Daniels had 3,812 passing yards and 40 touchdowns while throwing just four interceptions. He also had 1,134 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, proving to be one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner will now look to translate his game to the NFL level in his rookie year.
