Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: 2024 Roster 'Best Team We've Had' Since My Trade from Chiefs
September 2, 2024
Tyreek Hill is feeling confident about the Miami Dolphins roster in 2024.
The eight-time Pro Bowler expressed his appreciation for his teammates prior to the start of the season and believes this is the team that can make some noise in the AFC.
"This is the best team we've had since I've been here," Hill said, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. "Great time to be alive. We are all excited. We've got a lot of weapons, lot of playmakers on this team. Everyone is on the very edge of their seats, waiting for this moment. . . . Tua has done a great job overcommunicating exactly what he wants as far as details on routes. Mike has given him the keys to the car. That gives all of us the ability to play free and be ourselves and be creative in our routes."
Hill has been on some Miami teams with strong talent. Since joining the franchise prior to the 2022 season, the Dolphins have gone 20-14 and reached the postseason in both years.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 3,548 and 4,624 yards in 2022 and 2023 respectively and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has had 1,356 and 1,014 yards in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Beyond that, however, the team was a bit less talented and fell behind the other contenders in the AFC.
The Dolphins added Odell Beckham Jr and Jonnu Smith and agreed to new contracts with Hill, Waddle and Tagovailoa in the offseason. This, combined with continued development across the roster, has Miami looking like a team that is ready to take a step forward in 2024.
The Dolphins will open up the 2024 season on Sept. 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
