He gets a 4-year deal worth a record $240M(!) with $231M guaranteed, per me and @TomPelissero.

Owner Jerry Jones and agent Todd France and his team from @AthletesFirst closed it out. The contract makes Prescott the highest-paid player (per year) in NFL history, with his $60 million average annual value now No. 1 all time.
The news dropped hours before Prescott and the Cowboys were set to open their season on the road against the Cleveland Browns.
Needless to say, this was a significant Sunday morning surprise. Prescott was set to enter this season on the final year of his expiring contract, and news throughout the entire offseason indicated that things were moving along, at times, with a snail's pace (if at all).
But Prescott, who finished second in the NFL MVP race last year, is back with Dallas on a contract that now runs through 2028.
Fans reacted to the stunning news after it broke on a busy Sunday morning. Some thought he deserved the payday, while others believe the Cowboys overpaid him.
Pranav Sriraman @PranavSriramanWow. 96.3% of the contract guaranteed and $5M in AAV over the 2nd highest paid in Love, Lawrence, and Burrow. What a payday. Dak is worth this contract too he's been really good for about a decade now with some incredible highs and his game should age really well too. https://t.co/Ce3eTT6Ez3
Skip Bayless @RealSkipBaylessJerry Jones just made a QB who has stunk in 3 straight playoff losses - who is 2-5 in playoff games - the highest paid player in NFL history. This is why Jerry's Dallas Cowboys have not even made it to an NFC Championship game in going on 30 years. Now I'm ... STUCK WITH DAK.
Regardless of opinions, Prescott is here to stay, and his focus is clearly on winning the Super Bowl.
Week 1 of that quest begins Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET in Cleveland.
