Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders told reporters Tuesday that his son, safety Shilo Sanders, had surgery on his arm Sunday and will miss two to three weeks while recovering.

Sanders also posted a picture of Shilo from the hospital on Monday:

COACH PRIME @DeionSanders

God is Good! Can't wait to see u back ready to go. Love ya son! <a href="https://twitter.com/ShiloSanders?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ShiloSanders</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/DeionSandersJr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@DeionSandersJr</a> <a href="https://t.co/gm4joshAXX">pic.twitter.com/gm4joshAXX</a>

Shilo Sanders suffered the injury during Colorado's 28-10 loss against Nebraska on Saturday, attempting to tackle running back Dante Dowdell. Deion Sanders said during the NBC broadcast of the game that his son was likely dealing with a broken forearm, though Colorado hasn't issued an update since on the specific nature of the injury.

The sixth-year senior led Colorado in both tackles (70) and forced fumbles (4) last season, adding an interception, three passes defensed and one defensive touchdown. He was a second-team Pac-12 selection (Colorado has since joined the Big 12).

His brother Shedeur, Colorado's star quarterback, didn't come out of the Nebraska game unscathed either, taking five sacks, though he doesn't appear to be in danger of missing any time.

"There's nothing that recovery and everything can't fix," he told reporters regarding the wear and tear suffered against the Cornhuskers. "We're going to get back to the drawing board."

Colorado has had an interesting start to the season, surviving a tough test against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State to start the season before getting beat up against Nebraska. The Buffs will face in-state rival Colorado State on Saturday.
