Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott is the richest man in the NFL after signing a four-year, $240 million contract extension this past weekend, and the details of his new deal were revealed on Wednesday.

According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, "the final hurdle" in negotiations between Prescott and the Cowboys "was guaranteed money." The 31-year-old's patience paid off, as he is now the first player in NFL history to have an average salary of $60 million and Graziano determined that $231 million, or 96 percent of the contract's total value, is fully guaranteed.

Prescott received an $80 million signing bonus and $129 million fully guaranteed at signing, which includes his $1.25 million salary for this year and his $47.75 million salary for next season. His $40 million salary in 2026 and his $45 million salary in 2027 are both guaranteed for injury and become fully guaranteed in March 2025 and March 2026, respectively. His $55 million salary for 2028 has $17 million guaranteed for injury and becomes fully guaranteed in March 2027.

In addition to the whopping salary figures, Prescott's new deal also includes a no-trade clause and a no-franchise/transition tag clause, per Graziano.

Still, the Cowboys maintained some flexibility in the deal, as it already includes four void years from 2029 to 2032 and gives the team the right to restructure and add more void years "to create salary cap relief as often as they see fit," Graziano noted.

After receiving his new deal, Prescott can now focus on trying to help Dallas win its first Super Bowl title in nearly three decades.
