Florida State's nightmare start to the 2024 season continued on Saturday, falling to Memphis by the final score of 20-12.

After starting off the season ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Seminoles are now 0-3.

FSU paid $1.3M to play Memphis at home only to lose 😅

They're now 0-3

(h/t @FOS) pic.twitter.com/orMNgEZGnr

D.J. Uiagalelei was inconsistent under center once again, finishing 16-of-30 for 201 yards to go along with an interception. He was sacked four times and lost 16 yards on his nine rush attempts.

There is "not respecting the opposing QB" and then there is Memphis zero-blitzing DJ Uiagalelei with FSU needing 60 yards for a touchdown in the last minute

Joshua Mixon @JoshDMixon

I'm beginning to think FSU may have hit the point of diminishing returns with DJ Uiagalelei.

College Football Report @CFBRep

DJ Uiagalelei with 0 elusiveness and 0 awareness… it's just so hard to watch

Memphis jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the second quarter after Uiagalelei's interception resulted in a 65-yard touchdown drive. Florida State wasn't able to find the end zone until the middle of the third quarter, scoring on a six-yard run by Roydell Williams.

The Seminoles still had an opportunity to send the game to overtime, trailing by eight points with just 46 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Uiagalelei led Florida State down to Memphis' 39-yard line, but a pass to the end zone fell incomplete with no time left on the clock.

Fans were far from impressed with the Seminoles as well as head coach Mike Norvell, who left Memphis to join the school in 2019.

Jason. @J_Hud111

I'm being as serious as ever..

This might be the worst Florida State team of all time.

Andrea Adelson @aadelsonESPN

Mike Norvell finally calls a shot down the field but DJU arm punts a wobbler and it's an INT. I seriously think this offense is worse than 2020 at this point.

David Pollack @davidpollack47

I am a postive person. Always try to be. I'm positive Florida State stinks.

B1G bound Noles @FFDynastyChris

I don't ever want to hear anyone call Norvell an "offensive coach" ever again. The guy doesn't know the first damn thing about running an offense. I mean that. Not the FIRST damn thing.

Big Red Football @BigRedfootball7

Norvell went from one of the hottest coaches to one of the hottest seats in about 3.6 seconds

After finishing with a 13-1 record in 2023, the Seminoles became the first team to clinch the under on their projected win total in 2024 (h/t Brett McMurphy of Action Network).

Florida State will once again try to earn its first win of the season against Cal on Sept. 21.
