Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will likely have to miss significant time after suffering an injury against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Watson is believed to have sustained a high-ankle sprain, but he'll undergo tests on Monday to get more clarity on the injury.

It's been a bit of a slow start to the season for Watson, who had just 80 receiving yards and a touchdown through three games, but he had a strong season a year ago with 422 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

With Watson now set to potentially miss a few weeks, fantasy managers will need to find a replacement. Here are a couple of options potentially available on the waiver wire along with some trade tips.

Dontayvion Wicks

Perhaps the most logical pick up to replace Watson is the receiver who plays behind him.

Dontayvion Wicks, a second-year receiver out of Virginia, will likely be bumped up to the starting spot with Watson out. Wicks is coming off a solid rookie year where he picked up 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

He's had a slow start to the 2024 season, recording just 26 receiving yards and a touchdown, but he's also only brought in three receptions. As he gets more targets, it will likely lead to more production.

Wicks is only 13 percent rostered in Yahoo fantasy football leagues, meaning he should be widely available after this week.

Jordan Addison

Jordan Addison has played just one game so far this year for the Minnesota Vikings, but he returned to the field on Sunday and could be on his way to a productive season.

The second-year player out of USC had an outstanding rookie season with 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, though much of the production was due to star receiver Justin Jefferson missing some time.

Still, Addison could be due for another big year now that he's healthy.

Addison is less available than Wicks, as he's rostered in 75 percent rostered in Yahoo fantasy football leagues. That number will likely only go up in the coming weeks now that he's back on the field, so picking him up as soon as possible would be a smart move.

Xavier Legette

Xavier Legette could be a solid pickup for fantasy managers willing to take a risk on a rookie who's had a bit of a slow start this season.

The Carolina Panthers wide receiver had just 77 receiving yards through three games, but he picked up his first touchdown in Week 4 and could be on his way to a couple of productive weeks with receiver Adam Thielen out.

But fantasy managers will need to act fast to add Legette to their rosters. As of Sunday, he was just 13 percent rostered in Yahoo fantasy leagues, but that number will likely increase after he showed signs of productivity against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Trade Tips

Trading an injured player is always a bit complicated.

On one hand, it could be worth holding onto Watson if he's only going to be out for a few weeks. Making a decision on whether to trade or keep him should come after he's been given a timeline.

If you are looking to trade Watson for one of the players mentioned above, consider throwing in a flex player from your bench as well. Otherwise, it's unlikely you'll get a deal done for an injured player.

Obviously Watson doesn't have a lot of trade value with his injured status, but a team in your league that is looking to add depth for later on in the season might be willing to give you something in return for him.
