New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told reporters on Sunday he suffered a low-ankle sprain during Sunday's 23-17 loss against the Minnesota Vikings in London.

Rodgers says he has a low-ankle sprain. Foot got caught in a pile up. Jokes that his body was making a lot of "noises" in the game. #Jets

The veteran quarterback finished the game 29-of-54 for 244 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions, taking three sacks and a number of hits.

Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP and 10-time Pro Bowler in his first full season with the Jets. His first campaign in 2023 ended after a few plays when a Leonard Floyd sack resulted in a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

The 40-year-old spent his first 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, starting for the final 15. The Pack traded Rodgers to New York in April 2023.

The Jets entered the 2024 season having missed 13 straight postseasons. There was obviously plenty of hope going into 2024 with a healthy Rodgers flanked by star skill-position players (e.g. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson) and backed by a defense that ended last year second-best in yards per play allowed.

Gang Green also signed one of the league's top backups in case Rodgers missed time in 14-year veteran Tyrod Taylor, who most recently saw time for the New York Giants last year in relief of injured starter Daniel Jones.

He played 11 games (five starts) and completed 116-of-180 passes for 1,341 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. Taylor had 38 carries for 197 rushing yards as well.

Rodgers was able to return to the game after suffering the injury and will have an extra day of rest before a Monday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 14, so Rodgers won't be expected to miss any time. If he does, however, Taylor is next in line.
