Week 5 DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday
Joe TanseyOctober 6, 2024Week 5 DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday

Week 5 poses one of the first true tests of the NFL season for DraftKings daily fantasy football players.
Bye weeks have begun, so you can't go to Saquon Barkley, Amon-Ra St. Brown and a few other stars due to their off weeks.
The Kansas City Chiefs do not play until Monday and the league-best Minnesota Vikings play in the London game on Sunday morning versus the New York Jets.
The options for traditional Sunday afternoon contests on DraftKings are more limited than they have been all season.
You may have to get creative with some lineups and start some players that may not have grabbed your attention upon first glance.
The head-to-head matchups in Week 5 suggest the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears could be among the offenses to trust the most, and if that is the case, they could provide tremendous DFS value.
Trust the Browns Passing Attack in Favorable Matchup

The Cleveland Browns' aerial attack has not had the best of starts to the season, but that can change on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Washington has allowed 10 passing touchdowns and it ranks 13th in passing yards allowed. The Commanders let up 312 aerial yards to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 and gave up 280 yards to Baker Mayfield in their opener.
Amari Cooper should be the primary DFS target in the matchup. He's caught less than half of his targets through four weeks, but at some point, he will have a breakout game.
This is the ideal buy-low spot for Cooper, and it is also a matchup where Jerry Jeudy could be a decent value play.
Jeudy caught six balls on nine targets for 72 yards in the Week 4 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
A mini lineup stack with Watson, Cooper and Jeudy could be worth the risk against the Washington defense, or you could use Jeudy as a sleeper pick as one of the three wide receivers in your DraftKings DFS lineups.
Packers Rushing Attack Carries a Ton of Value

Week 5 is the perfect time to go all-in on the Green Bay Packers rushing attack.
The Packers listed Christian Watson as doubtful and Romeo Doubs as out for the road clash with the Los Angeles Rams.
The passing attack will be short-handed, Jordan Love is still working back to 100 percent and the Rams have allowed over 100 rushing yards in all of their four games.
The matchup seems almost too ideal for Josh Jacobs to be one of Sunday's highest point earners across all DFS contests.
Jacobs has flown under the radar in the last two weeks with rushing performances of 51 and 43 yards. He could easily double both of those totals against a porous Rams rushing defense.
At a $6,400 salary on DraftKings, Jacobs is a value option for DFS competitions compared to Derrick Henry at $7,800 and Kyren Williams at $7,600.
Caleb Williams Carries Value as Top Sleeper at Quarterback

if there was ever a matchup for Caleb Williams to shine, it is Sunday's meeting with the Carolina Panthers.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft is going up against a Panthers defense that allowed over 300 total yards in each of its first four games.
Carolina let up 276 and 232 passing yards in the last two weeks to the Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals.
Additionally, the Panthers conceded 24 points in each of their last two games, which is a sign of hope that the Bears could have a strong offensive day.
Williams has a single game over 200 passing yards in his young career, and while the Bears offensive line still has some issues, that unit should not be under as much pressure as it has been in the first four games.
At $5.800 on DK, Williams is worth the DFS risk if you build the right roster around him.
You can use some of the extra salary on a few of the top running backs or wide receivers to potentially have a robust scoring day based on the matchups in play.
