Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane left Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots with a concussion and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest, leaving fantasy players to potentially consider alternatives in the coming weeks should the injury lead to a stint on the sidelines for the star running back.

Granted, the Dolphins were already heading into their bye next week, meaning you may have been preparing alternatives.

But if you didn't already have a Week 6 plan—or didn't handcuff Achane with Raheem Mostert beyond that—we've got a few suggestions for players you could target on waivers this week.

Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs

The running back situation in Kansas City remains in flux, with Isiah Pacheco out of action due to a fractured fibula. That paved the way for Kareem Hunt to lead the team's backfield in Week 4, rushing 14 times for 69 yards and adding two catches for 16 yards.

Kareem Hunt saw two-thirds of Kansas City's running back rushes and a 10.7% target share on Sunday. Both of those numbers were backfield highs in Week 4.

    KC
Kareem Hunt 43%
Samaje Perine 41% (13/16 on 3rd down; 1/1 inside the 10)
Carson Steele 19%

LAC
Dobbins 72% (9/13 on 3rd downs; 2/4 inside the 10)
Gus 25%
Haskins 4%

Kansas City has options, of course, making Hunt a risky proposition. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was cleared to practice this past week and should return to game action at some point in October, while both Samaje Perine and Carson Steele saw touches last week.

But if Hunt has a big Week 5 performance on Monday night and seizes the reins in this backfield, he'll be incredibly valuable until—or if—Pacheco returns.

Remember, Hunt showed a nose for the end zone in Cleveland last season (nine touchdowns) been a decent enough weapon in the passing game in the past. Perine may handle more of the third-down duties in Kansas City, but Hunt is absolutely a player who should be on your radar.

One thing to note is that Hunt and the Chiefs have a bye next week, so he won't offer immediate remedy for Achane. Long term, however, he's a very tempting play.

Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears

Roschon Johnson is becoming something of a vulture in the Chicago Bears backfield, notching a touchdown rush for the second straight week on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. He continues to siphon carries from D'Andre Swift as well, though this backfield remains very much slanted in favor of Swift.

D'Andre Swift has 66 yards on 12 carries...but Roschon Johnson just vultured a rush TD on his first carry of the game.

DeAndre Swift was visibly angry about being taken out after doing much of the heavy lifting to put the ball on the half yard line. Roschon Johnson says thanks for the easy TD

Still, the bye weeks are brutal, and having a player who is getting regular opportunities near the goal line is worthwhile. Keep Johnson on your waivers radar this week.

Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins

If you want to keep it in Miami for Achane's potential replacement and Mostert isn't available, the next obvious option is Jaylen Wright. But it's a risky one.

For starters, Mostert is going to be the main man while Achane is out. That much was evident on Sunday—Mostert had 19 carries for 80 yards, while Wright did have 13 carries for 86 yards, a promising performance.

The second is that if you need help next week, Wright won't provide it, as he's on a bye. Chances are that Achane won't miss significant time beyond the bye, meaning Wright may provide relevance for a week or two, tops.

Wright is very much a handcuff stash at this point, though given the injury histories of both Achane and Mostert—and Miami's ability to historically have more than one running back at a time with significant fantasy relevance—it's definitely not the worst idea if you have an open roster spot and other strong options to employ in Week 6.
