The Carolina Panthers' rocky start to the season has been attributed to second-year quarterback Bryce Young, prompting the team to sideline the 23-year-old in favor of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton.

Young made an appearance on Sunday during Carolina's 36-10 loss against the Chicago Bears, throwing four completions on seven passes with 58 yards, but is no longer the go-to QB for Carolina.

The 2021 Heisman winner out of Alabama started in 18 games for the Panthers before being sidelined against the Las Vegas Raiders in mid-September.

"I'm big on trying to control what I can control," Young told reporters on Sunday. "For me, it's showing up tomorrow. I'm ready to learn from watching the tape, meetings and hearing what the coaches have to say and evaluate everything."

Since being replaced as the starting quarterback , Carolina has gone 1-2 with 36-year-old Andy Dalton.

Young also admitted that there is a long list of things that he has had to adjust to over the last couple of weeks after being the Panthers' go-to guy last season.

"I draw my motivation from inside so you know, good, bad or indifferent, I don't want anything to dictate if I'm motivated, if I care, if I am driven," Young said. "No matter how things are going, that's always going to stay the same."

In his rookie season with the Panthers, Young averaged 180 yards per game with a 60 percent completion rate during the team's 2-15 campaign.

The Panthers will face the 3-2 Atlanta Falcons next Sunday, Oct. 13 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
