The NFL's leading receiver is going to be sidelined for "a couple of weeks."

Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters Monday that Nico Collins suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills and is considered week-to-week.

"It takes a couple of weeks for a hamstring," Ryans added.

Collins exited Sunday's contest after an excellent start with two catches for 78 yards and one touchdown. The score was a 67-yard strike in the first quarter and seemed to indicate he was about to turn in another excellent game.

After all, he posted more than 100 receiving yards in three of Houston's first four contests and has 32 catches for a league-best 567 yards and three touchdowns on the season.

From a fantasy perspective, it was fair to wonder whether the addition of Stefon Diggs would impact Collins' targets and overall production this season. Yet he quieted all of those concerns with the way he started the campaign, and there is little doubt he is still C.J. Stroud's No. 1 option in the passing game.

Unfortunately for the Texans and fantasy managers, they will have to manage without him for the immediate future.

Houston is on the road for the next two games against the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, and it will be up to Diggs and Tank Dell to help fill the void in the winnable contests.

New England is 26th in the league in passing yards allowed per game (239), while Green Bay is 23rd (231.6). That means Houston should still have opportunities to move the ball with Stroud throwing to Dell, Diggs, Dalton Schultz and even running back Dare Ogunbowale.

Collins' absence doesn't change Stroud's status as a must-start quarterback in fantasy circles, and Diggs and Dell are also must-starts at this point. If anything, it elevates Schultz to nearly must-start status as well, especially at a tight end position that isn't exactly loaded with impact depth.

As for Collins, there is no reason to hesitate putting him back in starting lineups when he does return after this setback.
