Pat McAfee announced Tuesday that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers' weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee Show was rescheduled following the firing of Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

Rodgers usually appears on the show on Tuesdays, but McAfee posted on X that the future Hall of Fame quarterback will be on Wednesday's episode instead:

The Jets announced Saleh's firing Tuesday following a 2-3 start to the season and named defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich the interim head coach.

McAfee postponing Rodgers' appearance may have been a case of a scheduling conflict, as Pro Football Talk reported that the Jets were set to have a team meeting at noon ET on Tuesday.

When Saleh arrived as head coach of the Jets in 2021, New York had not reached the playoffs since 2021, and the organization was looking for a catalyst.

The Jets went just 11-23 in Saleh's first two seasons, but he was largely absolved of blame since 2021 No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson turned out to be a bust at the quarterback position.

In order to give Saleh a fighting chance, the Jets acquired Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2023 season, making New York a trendy pick to reach the playoffs and potentially contend for a Super Bowl.

The best-laid plans almost immediately imploded, though, as Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles tear on the Jets' first offensive drive of the season.

Saleh subsequently cycled through Wilson, Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian at quarterback, resulting in another 7-10 season.

General manager Joe Douglas and owner Woody Johnson decided to give Saleh one more opportunity with the hope that a healthy Rodgers could help get him over the hump.

The Jets started 2-1 and Rodgers looked great in a Week 3 win over the New England Patriots, but New York then lost back-to-back games to the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings.

New York's offense was virtually nonexistent in a 10-9 loss to the Broncos, and Rodgers threw three interceptions in a 23-17 loss to Minnesota in London.

That proved to be the last dance for Saleh, who was fired after going 20-36 and without getting the Jets to the playoffs in parts of four seasons.

Ulbrich will now be tasked with righting the ship, leaving Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to correct things on offense.

The firing comes at a pivotal time since the Jets will face the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

Despite their struggles, the Jets can tie for the division lead with a home win over a Bills team that has lost two in a row following a 3-0 start.
