Va Tech Reveals Orange Uniforms for 2024 CFB Season in New Hype Video
October 16, 2024
The Virginia Tech football team took to X on Wednesday to unveil the all-orange uniforms they will wear during the 2024 season.
Both the jerseys and pants are orange, while the jersey features a white number trimmed with maroon on the front and maroon numbers trimmed with white on the shoulders. Also, the helmets are white and include a maroon "VT" logo trimmed orange:
Virginia Tech Football @HokiesFBWait, did you guys want Orange unis? 🤔<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ThisIsHome?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ThisIsHome</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/OrangeEffect?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#OrangeEffect</a> <a href="https://t.co/OKkloQiNIe">pic.twitter.com/OKkloQiNIe</a>
As part of the post on X, Virginia Tech included the hashtag #OrangeEffect, which is in reference to the four "effect games" announced by the school this season.
The Hokies wore all white for the "White Effect" game against Rutgers last month, so it stands to reason that they will wear the all-orange unis Thursday night against Boston College for the "Orange Effect" game.
While the Hokies have worn orange on orange a few times in their existence, it is a rare color combination since they traditionally sport maroon jerseys.
If nothing else, the Orange Effect should influence plenty of fan involvement on Thursday when Virginia Tech hosts Boston College at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg.
It has been an up-and-down season for the Hokies thus far, as they sit at 3-3 and are battling for bowl eligibility.
Following a season-opening loss to a Vanderbilt team that later went on to upset then-No. 1 Alabama, VT secured back-to-back wins over Marshall and Old Dominion.
The Hokies then lost by three to a Rutgers team that is now 4-2 and by four to a Miami team that is 6-0 and ranked No. 6 in the nation.
Virginia Tech bounced back two weeks ago and got its first ACC win of the season, crushing Stanford 31-7 on the road.
Thursday will mark another in-conference game against 4-2 Boston College, and a win would have the Hokies trending toward their second consecutive bowl game appearance under head coach Brent Pry.
