Video: Lennox Lewis to Consider Mike Tyson Fight If Boxing Legend Beats Jake Paul
October 21, 2024
If Mike Tyson is victorious against Jake Paul in their boxing match on Nov. 15 on Netflix, another heavyweight legend is interested in a high-profile matchup.
Fellow former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis told TMZ that if Tyson wins, he'd be open to a rematch against him at some point.
"Let's see how he makes out in this fight, and then I'll tell you after," Lewis said of a potential return to the ring against Tyson.
Lewis and Tyson faced each other in a marquee bout in 2002 that was preceded by a press conference brawl between both boxers and their entourages. The event drew a star-studded crowd that watched Lewis win by eighth-round knockout to retain his heavyweight title. Both fighters earned a disclosed fight purse of $17.5 million.
Lewis also expressed confidence in Tyson's chances against Paul despite the 31-year age difference between the two of them.
"If he's in good shape he should be able to take it," Lewis said.
Tyson and Paul will face each other at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the first combat sports event ever to be streamed live on Netflix.
