Emotions never last long in the fantasy football world. Not during the regular season, at least.

Regardless what happens one week, there's always another. So, no matter if you're reeling from a tough less or riding the high of a blowout win after Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season, just remember that the feeling is fleeting.

Let's set emotions aside and get down to business, then, with an early look at our rankings and sleeper picks for Week 8.

Quarterback

1 of 4

    Top 10

    1. Lamar Jackson, BAL (at CLE)

    2. Jalen Hurts, PHI (at CIN)

    3. Josh Allen, BUF (at SEA)

    4. Jordan Love, GB (at JAX)

    5. Joe Burrow, CIN (vs. PHI)

    6. Kyler Murray, ARI (at MIA)

    7. Baker Mayfield, TB (vs. ATL)

    8. Caleb Williams, CHI (at WAS)

    9. Kirk Cousins, ATL (at TB)

    10. C.J. Stroud, HOU (vs. IND)

Sleeper: Tua Tagovailoa, MIA (vs. ARI)

If Tagovailoa clears concussion protocol and sees his first action since Week 2, he has a chance to post big numbers right away.

The Cardinals have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, per Yahoo. In their past two outings, they let Jordan Love throw a quartet of touchdown passes and allowed 349 passing yards to Justin Herbert.

In Miami's season opener, Tagovailoa pounced on a favorable matchup against the Jaguars and posted 338 yards and a touchdown on 23-of-37 passing.

Running Back

    Top 10

    1. Saquon Barkley, PHI (at CIN)

    2. Derrick Henry, BAL (at CLE)

    3. Kenneth Walker III, SEA (vs. BUF)

    4. Breece Hall, NYJ (at NE)

    5. Kyren Williams, LAR (vs. MIN)

    6. Jordan Mason, SF (vs. DAL)

    7. Bijan Robinson, ATL (at TB)

    8. Joe Mixon, HOU (vs. IND)

    9. Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (vs. TEN)

    10. Josh Jacobs, GB (at JAX)

Sleeper: Tyler Goodson, IND (at HOU)

The potential return of Jonathan Taylor (ankle) casts some uncertainty over Goodson's outlook, but the possible reward is great enough to justify the risk.

Throughout Taylor's three-game absence, the Colts have expanded Goodson's involvement. His touch count has climbed from eight to 14 over this stretch, and he just tallied his first touchdown of the season.

Houston's defense is stingy, but if Taylor can't make it back, then Goodson could see enough volume to post useful numbers.

Wide Receiver

    Top 10

    1. Justin Jefferson, MIN (at LAR)

    2. Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (vs. PHI)

    3. CeeDee Lamb, DAL (at SF)

    4. Tyreek Hill, MIA (vs. ARI)

    5. A.J. Brown, PHI (at CIN)

    6. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (vs. TEN)

    7. Cooper Kupp, LAR (vs. MIN)

    8. Drake London, ATL (at TB)

    9. DJ Moore, CHI (at WAS)

    10. Jayden Reed, GB (at JAX)

Sleeper: Jauan Jennings, SF (vs. DAL)

Assuming the hip injury that sidelined Jennings on Sunday doesn't keep him off the field in Week 8, Jennings could be primed for a huge day.

With Brandon Aiyuk lost for the season, Christian McCaffrey still sidelined and Deebo Samuel hospitalized for pneumonia, the Niners are desperate to find playmakers.

Jennings typically plays more of a support role, but he has shown he is capable of more. He's had six-plus targets in two games this season, and in those contests, he totaled 14 receptions for 263 yards and three scores.

Tight End

    Mark Andrews

    Top 10

    1. George Kittle, SF (vs. DAL)

    2. Brock Bowers, LV (vs. KC)

    3. Travis Kelce, KC (at LV)

    4. David Njoku, CLE (vs. BAL)

    5. Trey McBride, ARI (at MIA)

    6. Evan Engram, JAX (vs. GB)

    7. Kyle Pitts, ATL (at TB)

    8. Jake Ferguson, DAL (at SF)

    9. Sam LaPorta, DET (vs. TEN)

    10. Tucker Kraft, GB (at JAX)

Sleeper: Mark Andrews, BAL (at CLE)

Andrews won't be eligible to hold sleeper status much longer. Not after putting plenty of distance—not to mention production—between him and his surprisingly sluggish start.

Following back-to-back games without a catch, the 29-year-old has recorded 11 receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns in the three contests since.

Andrews' floor is raising by the week, and it might already be too high to bench him even in a tricky matchup.
