After trading star receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tennessee Titans are continuing their firesale on Wednesday.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Titans traded linebacker Ernest Jones IV to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for linebacker Jerome Baker and a fourth-round draft pick.

This is the second time that Jones has been traded in the last two months, as the Titans acquired him and a 2026 sixth-round pick from the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 27 in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick.

Jones quickly emerged as a key player for the Tennessee defense, ranking second on the team with 44 total tackles. Despite their 1-5 start, the Titans actually have the No. 1 defense in the NFL with 272.2 yards allowed per game.

Trading away Jones is sure to hurt Tennessee's chances of maintaining that level of play on defense, but it seems clear that the franchise is on the verge of a rebuild. The Titans acquired a conditional fourth-round pick from the Chiefs in the deal for Hopkins, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

For the Seahawks, Pelissero noted that they "needed inside linebacker help" and got it with Jones, who should help improve a unit that ranks in the bottom half of the league with 346.1 yards allowed per game.

The Titans will be looking to end a two-game skid when they meet the Detroit Lions on Sunday, while the Seahawks will be seeking their second straight win when they take on the Buffalo Bills.
