Tyson Fury Reveals Wife Had Miscarriage Ahead of Oleksandr Usyk Fight in May

Tyson Fury said Wednesday his wife suffered a miscarriage before he was scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk in May.
At a press conference for his December rematch with Usyk, Fury told reporters that his wife, Paris, declined to travel with him to Saudi Arabia because she was experiencing high blood pressure.
"When she said she couldn't come over, I knew there was a problem," he said. "... I said to my brother 'she's lost that baby'. She never told me she had lost the baby, but I knew. When I got back I got the inevitable confirmation that it was gone, but she had kept it to herself."
Paris was six months pregnant with their eighth child at the time.
"It's not like a small miscarriage at the beginning," Fury said. "You have to physically give birth to a dead child, on your own, while your husband is in a foreign country. I could not be there for her, in that moment, and that is tough for me."
Fury lost a split decision to Usyk on May 18, a result that briefly made Usyk the undisputed heavyweight champion before he vacated the IBF title in June. It was also the first loss of Fury's professional career.
He and Usyk are returning to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a rematch on Dec. 21.
