Video: Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul 'Countdown' Show Trailer Drops Ahead of Netflix Fight
October 24, 2024
The countdown to the much-anticipated showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is on.
Netflix dropped the trailer for its new Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson show on Thursday that will feature a behind-the-scenes look at both men preparing for their epic boxing match.
The three-part series will premiere on the streamer with the first two episodes on Nov. 7. It will showcase Paul and Tyson in training camp leading up to their in-ring battle.
Netflix will release the final episode on Nov. 12, three days before the bout takes place.
In addition to the focus on Tyson and Paul, the series will also spotlight Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano as they train for their undisputed lightweight championship fight. The bout is the co-main event on the card with Tyson and Paul.
Tyson is making his return to the boxing ring for the first time since an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. The former heavyweight champ is seeking his first win in a sanctioned bout since defeating Clifford Etienne on Feb. 22, 2003.
The 58-year-old Tyson has a 50-6-2 record in 58 professional boxing matches. He had a three-year reign with the heavyweight championship from November 1986 to February 1990 before losing to Buster Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
Paul has won 10 of his first 11 boxing matches since turning pro in 2020. He most recently defeated bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry via sixth-round TKO on July 20 in a bout that was put together after Tyson was unable to compete due to an illness.
Tyson and Paul were able to reschedule their fight for Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Netflix will broadcast the entire seven-match card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
