Carson Beck's Woes Concern Georgia Fans Despite Win over Florida After Lagway Injury
November 2, 2024
No. 2 Georgia avoided an upset loss against Florida on Saturday, but Carson Beck struggled during the Bulldogs' 34-20 victory.
Beck finished 25-of-40 for 309 yards and two touchdowns while getting picked off three times. Two of his interceptions occurred in the first half, allowing the Gators to take a 13-6 lead at halftime.
While Georgia has reeled off four straight wins following a defeat at the hands of Alabama on Sept. 28, Beck's continued turnover issues are concerning. The 22-year-old has now been picked off 11 times in his past five games after opening the year with zero interceptions in his first three appearances.
Fans weren't pleased with his disappointing performance on Saturday.

The Bulldogs were still able to win due to a strong performance from their defense, limiting Florida to just 228 total yards and forcing two turnovers.
Gators freshman quarterback DJ Lagway opened the game under center, but he suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter and was carted off the field.
Lagway was replaced by Aidan Warner, who finished 7-of-22 for 66 yards and an interception.
Head coach Kirby Smart's team was able to improve to 7-1, but Beck's ball security problems will be closely monitored as the College Football Playoff gradually draws closer.
