Mike Norvell Blasted by FSU Fans for Historically Bad Season After Blowout UNC Loss
November 2, 2024
Following a 35-11 blowout loss against the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Florida State Seminoles and head coach Mike Norvell are facing significant backlash as they fell to 1-8 on the season.
Florida State finished the year 1-7 in ACC play, which represents the worst conference record in program history.
Just one year after finishing 13-1 and ending the season ranked No. 6, Norvell and his team have managed to win just one game so far this season.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, the Seminoles allowed the Tar Heels to score 21 straight points, failing to find the end zone until the 6:24 mark in the third quarter.
Quarterback Brock Glenn completed 6-of-11 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown before freshman Luke Kromenhoek stepped in, completing 2-of-7 passes for 36 yards and two interceptions.
Tar Heels quarterback Jacolby Criswell completed 13-of-17 passes for 211 yards and one touchdown.
In his fifth year with FSU, Norvell had the Seminoles ranked No. 10 entering the season but got off to an 0-3 start, securing their only win against the California Golden Bears in Week 4.
FSU fans took to social media to voice their frustrations over the program's lack of offensive success compared to just a year ago.
The Seminoles will face Notre Dame on the road next Sunday as they continue to search for their second win of the season.
