Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Results: Best Social Media Reaction from Netflix Superfight
November 16, 2024
Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson by unanimous decision (80-72, 79-73, 79-73) in a highly anticipated fight that developed into a disappointing and tough-to-watch affair.
Tyson emerged as the early aggressor, but understandably the 58-year-old tired as the match went on, to the point where he wasn't able to muster much offense whatsoever.
The 27-year-old Paul landed his fair share of shots, but none were strong enough to knock down the ex-undisputed world heavyweight champion.
The fight ultimately saw both men circle each other in the ring for 16 minutes over eight two-minute rounds, with some attempts at strikes here and there.
In the end, Paul easily controlled the fight and won all three judges' scorecards, but it was a clearly underwhelming battle that left people yearning for far more. Worse yet, seeing a 58-year-old Tyson struggle in the ring was obviously tough for many.
Stephen A Smith @stephenasmithLove @MikeTyson. Always have, always will. But 58 is 58. Plus the legs just wasn't there. Old is old. Thank God he didn't get knocked out. Now it's time for @jakepaul to get in the ring with a Top-10 fighter — or Hell, a Champion. No more BBall players, strikers from MMA, or old…
Paul moved to 11-1 lifetime with seven knockouts. Tyson's career record now stands at 50-7 with one no-contest.
