Video: Dalton Schultz Trolls Cowboys, Says Texans Are 'The Best Team in Texas'
November 19, 2024
Houston Texans and former Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz believes an in-state rivalry was settled with Monday's 34-10 road win.
Schultz posted a video on Tuesday of himself pouring coffee into mugs to reveal the message, "The Houston Texans are the best team in Texas."
Schultz made five catches for 33 yards on Monday to help push the Cowboys to a fifth straight loss.
The Texans similarly declared themselves "Texas' Team" in a post on X after the win:
The franchise also posted a photo referencing the pieces of metal that fell from the roof of AT&T Stadium ahead of the game, this time arranged in the letter 'L':
Texans running back Joe Mixon opened scoring with a 45-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, and the visitors led by at least seven points for the rest of the game.
The highlight of the game for the Cowboys came when Cooper Rush, making his second start after Dak Prescott's season-ending surgery, found KaVontae Turpin to run in a 64-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
But Rush was unable to overcome the Texans defense throughout the rest of the final three quarters. He saw one pass picked off and suffered a strip-sack that the Texans returned for a touchdown.
The Texans win marked the first time the franchise had ever defeated the Cowboys at AT&T Field. The Cowboys meanwhile set a franchise record by trailing by at least 20 points for a sixth straight home game.
Prior to a wild card game loss to the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 14, 2023, the Cowboys had won 16 straight games at AT&T Stadium. The franchise has now lost six straight games at home, and led for just two minutes and 15 seconds over the span.
Schultz, who played with Prescott and the Cowboys for five seasons between 2018 and 2022, seems happy to have avoided participating in that turnaround by signing with the Texans in 2023.
